From June 5-June 7, the 2015 North American Sand Soccer Championships (also known as the “Gran Prix of Beach Sand Soccer”) will return to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The 19th edition of this event will host 10,000 youth and adult players from 16 states and 20 countries during the Oceanside festival between 14th and 36th streets.
Presented by McDonald’s of Southeastern VA and Northeastern NC, the sand-blasting 5 v. 5 competition is played on 25-35 or 30-40 yard grids. Shots on goal average 60 per match. Over 70 age/skill brackets exist to support all levels of play.
The centerpiece of NASSC is the Int'l pro/am men’s “U.S. OPEN”. Ten highly skilled teams will be battling for the title of “U.S. National Champion.” The festival offers beach co-ed football and beach lacrosse. NASSC is a sports charity festival open to the public at no cost.
Children are welcome at this family-friendly event.
