The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) welcomes regional visitors, and even local residents, to change their scenery, while still staying safely as close to home as possible, with the #MakeItMontco Hotel Package.
The VFTCB worked with more than 32 hotels, and 30 partners on the digital savings booklet – a $300 value. The idea is to make it more convenient than ever to plan a weekend getaway in Montco, where there’s room to stay, and space to play, while safely social distancing. To encourage visitors to explore Montco, this year’s specialized hotel rates and other deals will begin the first day of summer, and extend through the rest of the year, and be offered exclusively through the free Visit Valley Forge mobile app.
The package grants guests access to a wide variety of exclusive savings at some of the best restaurants, and other attractions when they book a stay at any participating Montgomery County hotel.
With a drive-able East Coast location, and access to major roadways, Montco ensures that people who’ve had to adjust vacation plans this year won’t need to travel far to getaway. Plus, whether looking to entertain kids, for a romantic escape, or a solitary experience, there are so many reasons to #MakeItMontco: the history, space (almost 100 miles of trails, outdoor dining/pools, golf, etc.), retail therapy (i.e. shopping), affordable hotel rates, and free parking.
Between data from Tourism Economics, and the results of the VFTCB’s hotel survey, all signs point to leisure travel business being the first to return on the path to recovery, according to Lisa Karl, Vice President for Sales & Strategtic Partnerships for the VFTCB.
“That’s one of the many reasons why this hotel package is so ideal, and because we coordinated exclusive hotel rates, restaurant discounts, and popular attraction offers,” she said. “So, take your weekend during the week, and be a tourist in your own backyard to get to know Montco a little bit better.”
Here’s how it works:
Guests who book stays between June 21 to December 31, 2020, upon arrival at the hotel, will receive a #MakeItMontco Welcome Bag, and a card with information on downloading the free Visit Valley Forge mobile app, and the password-protected digital coupon booklet to redeem offers at all participating restaurants and attractions.
Using a slight tweak to #MakeItMontco, the VFTCB’s #MakeItSafe tagline also shows the organization’s commitment to providing visitors with a list of the county’s 80 hotel brand’s cleanliness standards on valleyforge.org.
The VFTCB’s aggressive multi-season hotel package marketing strategy focuses largely on digital, and social media, while targeting the Philadelphia, South Jersey, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York markets in an effort to increase hotel stays for people visiting Montgomery County through the fall.
