Shootout for Soldiers has announced that the 24-hour lacrosse event will return to Kasch Park in Everett, WA, August 17-18. Everett, Washington is one of 12 locations in 2019. Shootout for Soldiers Seattle will begin at 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 17th, and games will continue until 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 18th. Everett Lacrosse Club and Woodinville Lacrosse Club are the local lacrosse clubs organizing the 24-hour event.

Shootout for Soldiers is a 24-hour lacrosse event with a mission to use lacrosse as a platform to support American veterans and foster community engagement. The games are fun – and are meant to bring the community together in support of our nation’s heroes. There is no championship or all-star team and the score runs for all 24 hours. There is good food, music and a festival of activities beyond lacrosse that make it a family friendly event for all.

“Following the success of Shootout for Soldiers 2018, I am looking forward to an extremely successful Shootout for Soldiers 2019 season,” said Merry Troper, executive director of Shootout for Soldiers. “I love meeting and talking to our Veterans and hearing their stories. I am proud that Shootout for Soldiers honors and helps our Military men and women.”

Since the event was founded in 2012, it has raised nearly $3.5 million, all for wounded American veterans. In 2018, the 24-hour lacrosse event raised $800,000.

Those interested in participating in the Shootout for Soldiers 2019 Seattle may register at www.shootoutforsoldiers.com/register. Veterans Game registration is open to any veteran or active duty military member who would like to play in the Veterans/Active Duty Game at the beginning of the event. Games are open to male and female teams while each event begins with a veterans and active duty game.

“We are honored that Shootout for Soldiers is coming back to bring this great community event which honors and helps our veterans and active duty through playing lacrosse for 24 hours,” states Tammy Dunn, sports development director of Snohomish County Sports Commission. “The Pacific Northwest Region has a strong military presence and with this 24-hour lacrosse event, we have a great opportunity to foster community engagement with our veterans and active military personnel.”
