Skateboard Supercross Announces Official Launch in Snohomish

Skateboard Supercoss will be at Legion Memorial Park in Arlington in Snohomish, WA, October 11-26, 2014.  Skateboard Supercross features a pumptrack which skateboards, BMX bikes and scooters can compete on the pump track.  Snohomish County has been selected to host the launch of the Skateboard Supercross league featuring its pop-up track. 

International Distance Skating Association is sanctioning this new form of Skateboard Racing.  Skateboard Supercross (SBSX) brings together shortboard and longboard elements of skateboarding together into one venue that will test skills, speed, technique and skateboarder progression.  

In addition, the second annual Centennial Trail SK8Challenge will be held October 11 and 12.  Offering a change to race against some of the best skaters in the world, the Centennial Trail Push Race features a $15,00 prize purse and a bonus to the overall combined time winner for male and female.  A one mile and 5K under the lights in Downtown Arlington kick off the festivities on Saturday, October 11, with a Half Marathon to follow the morning of October 13 on Snohomish County’s Centennial Trail.  Both races will begin and end at Legion Memorial Park.

Since the inception of long distance skateboard races with large prize purses, just four short years ago, the IDSA returns to the Pacific Northwest and brings one of the most innovative creations, Skateboard Supercross. “We are excited to sanction and introduce the SBSX racing league.  It’s been amazing to see how all these different styles of skateboarding are coming together to compete on these new style of tracks."
