For the first time, Snohomish County has been selected to host two events by the United States Tennis Association/Pacific Northwest Section (USTA/PNW) as a result of a successful bid by the Snohomish County Sports Commission. The USTA/PNW Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championships and Mixed 55 & Over Sectional Championships will now take place Sept. 17-19, 2016 in Snohomish County, with specific venues to be finalized by fall 2015.
A total of 10 USTA/PNW Sectional and Junior Championships were announced following Requests For Proposal submitted by April 2015. Two new communities, Snohomish County, WA and Salem, OR, will be hosting 2016 USTA/PNW Championships for the first time, in addition to four other locations. “We are delighted our bid was successful in securing the USTA/PNW Mixed 40 & Over Sectional Championships and Mixed 55 & Over Sectional Championships in 2016,” said Tammy Dunn, Sports Development Manager, Snohomish County Sports Commission. “We will now be working with the USTA/PNW staff to arrange the most appropriate venue for these two events.”
