Washington Youth Soccer is proud to announce that Snohomish will host the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region IV (West) Presidents Cup, June 9-14, 2015 at Stocker Fields. Qualifiers from the 14 western US Youth Soccer State Associations, including the champions of the Washington Youth Soccer Challenge Cup, in the Under-13 through Under-17 Boys and Girls age groups advance to the US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup. The winners from the four regional events move on to play for the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup title.
Local restaurants, hotels, retail stores and others will benefit from the more than 4,800 players, coaches, teams and tournament officials, who also bring along their families to the six-day tournament. Participating teams will book an estimated 15,000 room nights at area hotels, and visitors are expected to contribute more than $3 million to the local economy during the event.
“Washington Youth Soccer is excited to host the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup,” said Matt Moran, Washington Youth Soccer Director of Marketing and Competitions. “The Washington Youth Soccer staff, along with Snohomish Youth Soccer Association and the Snohomish County Sports Commission, worked hard to organize our bid to host the event and it is a great opportunity to show teams from across the West the great soccer culture and facilities in Washington. Hosting the Region IV Presidents Cup is a benefit to Washington Youth Soccer teams as it will reduce the travel cost for those that advance to the regional stage, and will also bring a significant economic impact to the area with over 120 teams traveling to Snohomish for the six day event.”
The Washington Youth Soccer Challenge Cup and US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup are designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique competitions from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer. The Washington Youth Soccer Challenge Cup and US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup are a separate series of events from the Washington Youth Soccer State Championships and the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.
