The Snohomish County Sports Commission is excited to announce the hiring of Rachel Lane as the Sports Marketing Specialist. Rachel will be responsible for promoting Snohomish County as a premier destination for sports.
“We are delighted to have Rachel on the Snohomish County Sports team. Her passion for sports and marketing creates an innovative opportunity for us to showcase Snohomish County sports and the Pacific Northwest beauty,” states Tammy Dunn, Snohomish County Sports Commission Executive Director. “
Rachel is a Monroe native, but has spent time in other states including Arizona, Wyoming, and Oregon. She credits her passion for sports to the athletic scene in Snohomish County, where she spent her youth playing soccer with Snohomish United. She continued playing competitively with Clark College up until her junior year.
Prior to joining the Snohomish County Sports Commission, Rachel spent time marketing with the Portland Trail Blazers and coaching soccer for both the Portland Timbers Youth Academy and at the high-school level. She also spent two years coordinating the Intramurals Program at Portland State University, where she eventually graduated from with a degree in Athletic and Outdoor Marketing.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys reading books, thrift shopping, and attending concerts. She is also gearing up to run her first marathon at the end of the year and dedicates much of her free time to training. She hopes to one day become an Iron Man finisher.
One of Rachel’s favorite quotes is from Joss Whedon. “Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it. Sauté it. Whatever. MAKE.”
