The American Pond Hockey Tournament returns to Minocqua this February for two weekends of thrilling outdoor hockey at the iconic Aqua Bowl. The Invitational, happening February 7-8, will feature elite teams from around the world, while The Sequel, February 14-15, offers a more casual competition for local and visiting players of all skill levels.
A Celebration of Outdoor Hockey and Community
American Pond Hockey is more than a tournament—it’s a celebration of winter recreation, camaraderie, and the unique charm of Minocqua. The event draws players and spectators alike to enjoy the frozen beauty of the Aqua Bowl, connecting the local community with visiting teams.
This year’s tournament proceeds will support the Minocqua Volunteer Fire Department and the Lakeland Hawks Ice Arena, with a portion of proceeds directly benefiting each. Additionally, American Pond Hockey has introduced plans to maintain a public skating rink at the Aqua Bowl throughout the winter season, enhancing Minocqua’s outdoor recreation offerings.
"It is wonderful to have American Pond Hockey back on the ice for the third year on Lake Minocqua,” said Sherry Hulett, Sports & Group Travel Director of Let’s Minocqua. “We are enthusiastic in welcoming the two teams from Great Britain. Not only does this event bring an economic boost to the area, but the locals enjoy the festivities of the weekend. Weather permitting, we will add an outdoor movie on Saturday morning for kids and adults alike."
