The Bit & Spur Saddle Club will host the first Fall Festival on the Prairie on Saturday, October 3rd, from 8am to 5pm, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This family-friendly event combines horse demonstrations and events with history lessons and displays. Planned activities include Civil War displays, antique autos, tractors and fire trucks, wagon and horse/pony rides, blacksmith work by Hartly’s Hoof Care, leather working by Hester Saddlery, and more. Horse demonstrations start at noon and will include dressage, English & western riding, mounted shooting, barrel racing, rescue race, and reining.
The Bit and Spur Saddle Club has been in operation for over 80 years and continues to be one of Eau Claire's best kept secrets. They host annual education seminars and horse shows that include halter, showmanship, English Hunt Seat and Saddle Seat classes along with Western Pleasure and Horsemanship. The Club concentrates on putting on Open Horse Shows and is affiliated with the Western Saddle Club Association. People of all ages are welcome along with any horse breed.
Concessions will be available. Entry is $2.00 at the gate and kids 12 & under are free.
