Fox Cities Roller Derby (FCRD) is hosting the Supper Club Showdown, a full day of roller derby action, on June 8 at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center.

Both FCRD’s teams, the 920 Honeys and the All Stars, will compete as well as teams from Madison Roller Derby and North Star Roller Derby. The event will conclude with an open gender mixer event with skaters across the midwest making up the rosters for “Team Sweet” and “Team Sour.” Doors open at 9 a.m. and the action starts at 10 a.m. as FCRD’s All Stars take on Madison Roller Derby’s The Herd.

“We invite the public to see what roller derby in the Fox Cities area is all about,” said Sara Benzel who skates as Tsunami Mommi. “ The Supper Club Showdown is our opportunity to build the fanbase that we want to have and spread our love for the sport.”

In addition to five roller derby games, a Vendor Village will be open to attendees and the public to peruse. It will feature local vendors including Golden Poppy Coffee, Jackalope Arts, Skate Appleton, Tria Frog Treats, Fox Pop, Top Drawer Crafts, Wisconsin LGBT Chamber, Moonlit Frog, Sugar Crash, Messie Jessie, and Planned Parenthood.

“Each of our league members and volunteers will play a key role in kicking off the first all day event in our league’s history,” said Benzel. “ When there is teamwork and collaboration, amazing things can be achieved.”

Tickets are $15 for ages 12 and above if purchased in advance, and $18 at the door. Children ages 11 and below are free. A discounted student admission of $10 will be available for Lawrence University students who present their ID.

FCRD has four more home events this season. June 29, July 20, and August 10 the league’s home teams will face off at Skater Edge. Finally, Rock Paper Valley Scissors will be on August 24 at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center. This will be another five-game event.

You can always find new league information on FCRD’s website www.foxcitiesrollerderby.com or follow along on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
