Visit Eau Claire announces successful Quarter 2 wins which will result in positive economic impact for the Eau Claire area, an ideal destination for convention and sports markets.
Visit Eau Claire helped to secure three events for the second half of 2014 including the Wisconsin Baseball Association’s State Semi Final, the Upper Midwest High School Elite League Hockey, and the 2015 USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship. Several noteworthy facilities will play host to these events including Hobbs Ice Center, Eau Claire Expo Center, and Hallie Sports Park. Combined these three wins result in an estimated economic impact of $129,600. Eau Claire will welcome the first event, the Wisconsin Baseball Association State Semi Final tournament, the weekend of August 8-10.
In addition, the destination marketing organization assisted in acquiring the Wisconsin Bed & Breakfast Association’s annual meeting and conference at the Holiday Inn Eau Claire South in November of 2015. The conference is estimated to benefit the community by $55,350.
Along with these four events, a total of 11 events were booked or assisted by Visit Eau Claire in the second quarter of 2014, for a total estimated economic impact of $756,000.
Visit Eau Claire effectively markets the Eau Claire area as a destination for conventions, group tour, sporting events, and leisure markets; to promote regional economic growth; to enhance the area’s overall identity and image; to sell fun, promote fun, and most importantly – Have FUN!
