Oregon Senate Moving in Favor of Convention Center Hotel

Hotels in Oregon aren't liking a bill that would remove their ability to object to competition in the area. The Oregon Senate moved to clear the way for a proposed 600-room Hyatt hotel at the Oregon Convention Center, financed in part by the Metro regional government. Other hoteliers are angry, citing increased competition and pressure to lower room rates.

USA Football to Host Eight-Nation International Tournament

The fifth International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Senior World Championship will be July 9-18 in Canton, Ohio. The field will include Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and the United States, the two-time defending champion. IFAF is working with 78 countries spanning six continents with national federations for American football, up from 21 member nations in 2006.
