IRONMAN has announced its future schedule for the IRONMAN® Virtual Racing™ (VR™) Series, that will feature eight weeks of racing spanning from July 10-12 to August 28-30. It was also announced that the IRONMAN VR Challenger Division will be reintroduced allowing athletes to compete in a structured and competitive virtual environment with a bit more flexibility of competition standards than the IRONMAN VR Championship Series.
In addition to the return of the IRONMAN VR Challenger Division, the IRONMAN VR Championship Series is set for two four-week highly-regulated competitions (IRONMAN VR14 – IRONMAN VR17 and IRONMAN VR18 – IRONMAN VR21) that will again allocate IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship qualifying slots across age groups for top performers. The IRONMAN VR Classic Division will remain unchanged and open to the entire global athlete community who wish to focus on their personal performance goals using preferred equipment.
Following this week’s recovery period, racing will resume on July 10-12. The Classic and Challenger divisions will follow the same race formats each week, with sprint distances included while the IRONMAN VR Championship Series will only include 5150™ Olympic distance and IRONMAN 70.3 half distance race simulations.
