The Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced the launch of their Tourism Grant Program to enhance visitor and tourism promotions efforts in Columbia County. The grant is made possible through funding generated by local hotel-motel tax and will be made available to qualifying agencies to promote activities, attractions, and special events.
Organizations that have been in operation a minimum of one year are eligible to apply for up to $2,000 in grant money to develop new events, promote activities or market attractions that have the potential of drawing visitors to Columbia County. The Columbia County CVB marketing committee will oversee the grant program and judge each application based on the merit of the program, quality of the marketing plan, ability of the program to attract visitors, and the economic impact potential of the program.
Organizations interested in applying for a grant may contact Shelly Blackburn, associate director for the Columbia County CVB, for an application or more information. The contact number is 706.447.7677 or e-mail at sblackburn@choosecolumbiacounty.com.
