May 20 is Kids to Parks Day. This national day of outdoor play is organized by National Park Trust in cooperation with partner organizations, including NRPA.
Last year, over 1,130 events, with 420 mayors and elected officials attending, encouraged children across the country to explore their neighborhood parks.
This year, NRPA has partnered with National Park Trust to create a toolkit that makes it easy to turn Kids to Parks Day event into a Park Champion event.
Cities hosting a Kids to Parks Day event can use this seven-step toolkit to invite federal elected officials to participate and see firsthand how important parks and recreation is to the community.
