Spartan, the trending obstacle race provider, announced for 2016 a Spartan U.S. Championship Series which is comprised of five races that will be televised on NBC Sports.
Beginning with the Big Sky Sprint in Montana, racers will battle it out on five of the most epic Spartan Race courses across the country. Spartan U.S. Championship contenders must prove they can conquer each of the Spartan Race distances – dubbed by the company, “Sprint, Super and Beast.”
Officials issued, “With the right combination of speed, strength, and endurance, only the most consistent and well-rounded athlete will prevail and be named as the U.S. Series Champion.”
The five televised Spartan Series races will include the Big Sky Sprint in Montana, Golden State Classic in California, Blue Mountain Challenge in Pennsylvania, Southeast Showdown in North Carolina and The Summit in Colorado.
Compared to regular Race winners, Series Champions in Men’s and Women’s will be awarded $4,500 more for first place, $2,800 more for second, $1,900 more for third, $1,500 more for fourth and $1,400 more for fifth.
