announces the formal launch of the new and much improved D1ARugby.com, the online home of the elite men’s college rugby competition in the United States.
Website Features
With 37 teams in D1A, fans can now follow their favorite team’s progress and the entire league in one place. Unique content, interactive polls, weekly rankings, conference standings, a comprehensive schedule, and a social media hub are all features of the newly renovated site.
Bradley Ryan, USA Rugby’s digital media manager who developed the site is most proud of the “Social Hub” page that features the latest D1A news from the social media realm.
“I love the social hub because it allows the entire rugby community to take part and weigh in on their favorite team using social media platforms they are already using like Facebook and Twitter,” Ryan said. “It’s like a digital rugby bulletin board that displays a lot of different viewpoints and a lot of diverse news.”
Join the Conversation
D1A Rugby is also on Facebook.com/D1ARugby and on Twitter @D1ARugby and would love for you to join the conversation. Use the hashtag #d1arugby to take part.
Decentralized and Agile
Behind the green curtain of D1Arugby.com, every team in the league has access to its respective portal on the site, allowing teams to keep their fans up to date with the news and content they want to see.
A new competition management system generates standings and statistics and will allow teams to update the status of a game in real time on D1ARugby.com from the sidelines.
“This is something the competition has needed,” said D1A Commissioner Kevin Battle. “I think it really sets a standard for the sport. To my knowledge, there is no competition in the country that has a site that can do what this site does. It is outstanding and is built in a way that gives teams a really valuable marketing tool.”
The site also can help showcase the true stars of the show, the student athletes.
The players in D1A really take on a huge challenge and they always rise to the occasion. We hope the new website allows college sports fans to really get to know these student athletes and the amazing things they do on and off the field,” Battle added.
Evolution of Digital USA Rugby
The site launch comes with a string of recent enhancements to USA Rugby’s online presence including the enhanced usarugby.org site, the development of a new competition management system, a new YouTube Channel, and frequent opportunities to [Google] Hangout with national team players and coaches.
