With more than 100 global ambassadors, headlined by the world’s #1 ranked singles player, Ty McGuffin, Selkirk Sport, the leading Pickleball paddle and accessories brand - with a full line-up of MADE IN THE USA products -announced plans to expand distribution to new global markets.

As the sport of Pickleball continues its meteoric rise, Selkirk Sport is now penetrating the global marketplace with expansion into India, Canada and Australia in the coming months. The Company’s innovative AMPED Series Pickleball Paddles, which are currently used by top professional players around the world, are now available for professional and recreational players in each respective market.

As Pickleball continues to gain popularity in India by the day, Team Selkirk members enjoyed tremendous success at India’s most prominent National Pickleball tournament in Bangalore, winning multiple gold medals. This prompted the Company to expand its presence in India through its global ambassador program - outfitting some of the best players in India with the Selkirk AMPED Series Paddle.

“Team Selkirk ambassadors are enjoying success around the globe using Selkirk’s new AMPED Series Paddles, and as this trend continues, we will continue to penetrate emerging markets to ensure professional and recreational players have access to the best equipment available,”said Rob Barnes, Product Manager, Selkirk Sport.  “Having the top players in new markets equipped with Selkirk’s innovative line-up of high performance paddles, is important to help drive demand at the grassroots level.”

To complement growth in India, Selkirk is making strong inroads throughout Canada, securing distribution at some of the country’s top sporting goods retailers, including Sport Chek; Racquet Guys - Markham, ON; Sporting Life Canada - Toronto and PickleballDepot.com, the largest online retailer of Pickleball paddles in Canada. Additionally, with Australia serving as an important growth market, Selkirk has initiated plans to penetrate the region as Team Selkirk ambassadors are now competing in local tournaments armed with AMPED Series paddles.

The AMPED Series is a first-of-its kind, Made-in-the-USA line of paddles that combine revolutionary FiberFlex Fiberglass face technology, a patent-pending thicker X5 polypropylene coreand a unibody design that promotes increased power, better ball control, and a larger sweetspot - the most critical benefits to maximize performance for players of all levels.

The FiberFlex face design establishes a new standard of face cushioning technology - the ball feels like it stays on the face longer - enabling players to generate more spin and manipulate their return with pinpoint accuracy.  The materials used to construct the AMPED Series reduces the Torque Suppression (twisting) on off center hits, offering the perfect defensefor taking the punch out of overhead slams. The engineering of the product also delivers a noticeable vibration reduction, promotingoptimal comfort in all playing conditions.

In addition to Ty McGuffin, Team Selkirk Ambassadors includeJoAnne Russell, the 1977 Wimbledon Doubles Champion; Kaitlyn Christian, a Professional Tennis Player who was Emma Stone's Tennis Double in the Film “Battle of the Sexes” and a former NCAA Women’s Tennis Doubles Champion at USC and Cammy MacGregor –Former Top 100 Professional Tennis Player, who won the US Open Senior Pickleball Singles Championship, among a stable of accomplished tennis pros.

About Selkirk Sport: Selkirk Sport, a Made-in-the-USA Manufacturer of Pickleball paddles and accessories, is a family-owned and operated company based in Hayden, Idaho, located in the shadows of its namesake, the Selkirk mountain range. Founded in 2014, Selkirk Sport is born off a passion for sport, as well as the great western outdoor leisure lifestyle that was afforded to the Company’s founders, Rob and Mike Barnes, along with their father Jim, who is Selkirk’s production manager, and Rob’s father-in-law, Russell Heistuman, a professional designer. Backed by the philosophy of always pushing the limits, Selkirk Sport is committed to manufacturing products that deliver the highest performance with unmatched quality and service.  As part of their early success, Selkirk Sport was the very first Pickleball manufacturer to offer an unprecedented lifetime warranty on its high-performance products. And, to meet the demands of the game’s premier professionals, the Company developed low-profile edgeguards that are lightweight and extremely durable. In just three years, Selkirk Sport has become one of the industry’s fastest growing companies, and their paddles are used by many of the game’s premier players, such as Ty McGuffin, Morgan Evans, Tonja Major and a host of others who are premier players and national/regional champions.

About Pickleball: Pickleball was invented by three dads in 1965 as a way to entertain their children during summer. The families resided on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Congressman Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum fashioned handmade equipment and based the simple rules on the existing sports of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Unlike Tennis, Racquetball and many other sports, Pickleball has a short learning curve; you don’t need months of lessons to participate in a fun game. It also is less running compared to Tennis. However, at the same time, it can be very competitive and addicting for all ages, as well as an excellent, fun family activity. Pickleball can be played as both a singles and doubles game, and can be played inside or outdoors, on a court that uses the dimension of a doubles badminton court, along with a modified tennis net.  A Pickleball court is 20’ x 44’ for both singles and doubles. The net is hung at 36” at the ends and hangs 34” in the middle. A non-volley zone – called the Kitchen - extends 7’ back from the net on each side.
