Boingo Wireless, the leading Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Wi-Fi provider, today announced that the company has been named the exclusive wireless network provider for the new University of Houston Football Stadium.
Boingo will install and manage a neutral host, multi-carrier Distributed Antenna System (DAS) network at the 40,000-seat stadium, which will be home to the NCAA FBS Houston Cougars. The network will feature state-of-the art technology to deliver fast, reliable cellular coverage and data capacity throughout the new stadium. Boingo will manage any future small cell deployments at the stadium.
Boingo will also manage Wi-Fi networks for both fan and stadium operations use. The DAS and Wi-Fi networks are slated to launch timed to the Houston Cougars’ first game, in August 2014.
Boingo’s other professional and university sport facility partnerships include services at the Utah Jazz’s EnergySolutions Arena, Chicago’s Soldier Field, University of Arizona’s Arizona Stadium, the Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium, and Pinnacle Bank Arena, home of the University of Nebraska’s Huskers basketball team.
