The Montgomery Regional Airport has experienced significant increases in passenger traffic in 4 of the last 5 months of this year when compared to 2013. Increases in three of those four were in double digit figures.
Based on airport figures, the number of travelers from the airport increased 5% in May, 19% in July, 14% in August and 23% in September above the number of travelers in the same months of 2013.
“September is typically a slow month for the travel industry, so we are pleased to see a 23% increase over last year in September,” said Chip Gentry, VP, Air Service Development.
“We attribute this growth in traffic to our efforts, in partnership with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, to raise awareness of the importance of using the airport to enhance economic development in the River Region,” said Phil Perry, Executive Director, Montgomery Regional Airport.
