Emily Biddle joined the Erie Sports Commission staff as the organization's first Communications Manager in July 2014, after previously serving as an administrative volunteer to the organization. Biddle is responsible for all marketing, PR, and communications-related efforts of the ESC, in addition to leading the organization's internship programs.
Biddle has worked in a variety of communications-based roles. Prior to joining the ESC, she served as an assistant coach for the Eastside YMCA Swim Team, and was formerly the Membership Coordinator and Assistant Swim Team Coach at the Oil City Area YMCA, where she began her own athletic career in the pool. She also previously worked in the Institutional Advancement department of The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh. There she helped plan and execute events for high-profile donors in the Pittsburgh region, and promote the organization as a leader in providing care for youth with special needs.
She serves in a number of volunteer roles, including on the Board of Directors for Cultures, Festivals, Arts and Events of Erie (CAFE), VP of Marketing for CelebrateErie, Board of Directors for the Erie Metropolitan Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame and member of Kuhl Hose Volunteer Fire Department.
Biddle has a Master of Science degree in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University and a Bachelor of the Arts degree in English Writing and Communications from the University of Pittsburgh. She lives with her husband and dog in Greene Township.
