Perfect Game (PG) hosts more than 17,000 teams, 1,200 events and 26,000 games annually that generate more than $400M in overnight visitor spending. PG are unlike any other baseball organization in America and the Perfect Game business model has proven to be recession-resistant because the best talent still needs to be recruited.
The opportunity: Perfect Game is seeking destinations to host events and permanent destinations where it can transform a community into a nationally known destination for the best players in America to be showcased for Major League Baseball, collegiate and other recruiters.
Perfect Game has engaged The Sports Facilities Advisory L.L.C. (SFA) to manage the process of selecting a host community for new national tournament & event complex and flagship sports tourism destination. Perfect Game is seeking a host community that has access to significant airport, transportation and hotel infrastructure, along with available room night capacity, as well as ancillary athletic facilities/field locations.
SFA is requesting letters of interest from host communities that are interested in partnering with PG to bring significant development capital and incentives for the construction of:
- A 12-16 field National Tournament & Events Complex, or
- A smaller 8-12 field Regional Tournament Complex, or
- Existing venues that could be converted to a home for Perfect Game’s select national/regional events.
SFA will conduct market specific research to arrive at site specific economic impact, out of market visitor counts, events schedule, and other details that will be used to identify finalists. Interested destinations should reply directly to: Gary Smallshaw at gsmallshaw@sportadvisory.com
The general timeline is as follows:
- October 19th, 2020 RFP distributed to select Host Communities
- November 16th, 2020 Questions from prospective host cities
- November 30th, 2020 All Questions addressed/submitted back to host communities
- December 11th, 2020 Final Submissions Due
