Some background: The two events, PG World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) Summer National Championships and Fall World Championships, provide a significant impact to both citizens and visitors. These signature events are right in line with the PG’s goal of providing the ultimate experience for travel ball teams around the nation. From top facilities, live play-by-play for each game and the highest level of competition, PG strives to deliver as much value as possible for teams of all skill levels and age divisions.
Teams will range from 16U-18U (minimum 16 players per team), 14U-15U (minimum 15 players per team) and 13U (minimum 14 players per team.) There is an average of two coaches per team and two spectators per participant.
Venue Requirements: All fields are 60x90 with 315-foot fences down the lines, and more to centerfield. Fields should be located in clusters, with easy access to one another. There should be one stadium venue for the semi-final and championship games. As many as 60 60x90 fields may be needed throughout the region.
All fields should have seating, bullpens, dugouts and clubhouses, as well as lighting, parking and concessions.
Hotels: The RFP contains information on hotel room night history; however, PG prefers any hotels to be within close proximity (30 minutes’ drive time) of the fields.
Amenities Needed: Restaurants, local attractions and family-friendly interests that could persuade individuals to extend their stay and explore the area.
Travel Requirements: Access by air as well as by highway.
