Reno, Nevada, will host the 2015 United States Bowling Congress Women's Championships and the new USBC Mixed. Both tournaments will be held at the National Bowling Stadium from April 10-June 30, 2015.
The 2015 USBC Women's Championships will be the 96th edition of the event, and format changes this year created a lot of excitement around the storied tournament. The addition of The Mixed will provide a great opportunity for families and friends to travel and bowl together.
There are great incentives for teams that enter early, especially those thinking ahead and planning to be in Las Vegas in 2016 when the Women's Championships and The Mixed visit the new 60-lane facility at South Point Hotel and Casino for the first time.
All Women's Championships teams that register and pay in full for the 2015 event by Aug. 1, 2014, will receive $15 in Championships Cash for each team member upon checking in at the National Bowling Stadium next year. Full payment is $560 per team, which includes team, doubles, singles and all-events for all four bowlers.
The Championships Cash incentive will be extended to all USBC Mixed teams that are entered by a captain who also has a team at the Women's Championships.
Entering before the Aug. 1 early-bird deadline not only will give teams the best choice of dates and times for 2015, it also will guarantee them the same team date and time for the 2016 tournaments. For example, if a team chooses to bowl on May 16, 2015, the 20th Saturday of the year, they'll be guaranteed a spot on May 14, 2016, the 20th Saturday of that year.
The window for accepting the guaranteed dates will be 60 days from the start of registration for the 2016 events.
The Women's Championships went to four-player teams this year and also returned to an all-scratch format with new average-based divisions (four in team and six for doubles, singles and all-events).
The Mixed will utilize the same format and divisions as the Women's Championships and give competitors the same memorable championship experience, including the march down the famed Center Aisle, but with a more laid-back and fun feel.
Squad times for the Women's Championships are 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. for team and 8 a.m., noon and 7 p.m. for doubles and singles. Squad times for The Mixed will be 7 p.m. for team (or 4 p.m. on days with only one team squad) and 10 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. for doubles and singles (note - doubles and singles are separate events).
Online registration for both the 2015 Women's Championships and USBC Mixed now is underway. Dates and times will be filled in real-time, and captains will be able to see what dates and times are available once they log in. *Teams that enter The Mixed online will be contacted directly to schedule doubles and singles.
The online system also allows captains for the Women's Championships to manage their information and rosters, set doubles pairings and make additional payments all at their own convenience.
