Get Your BID On with NAIA Hosting Opportunities

It’s time to get your BID on with two great hosting opportunities for women’s collegiate sports put forth by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The organization is seeking homes for two great events – its women’s beach volleyball national invitational and its women’s soccer championship. Bothe events are seeking homes for 2024 and 2025.

Women's Beach Volleyball National Invitational

Deadline: December 1, 2022

Overview: The Women's Beach Volleyball National Invitational will take place from Thursday to Sunday, April 25-27, 2024 and April 24-26, 2025. The format of the tournament will include one day of pool play taking place on Thursday. Teams will then be re-seeded into a six-team single elimination bracket taking place Friday and Saturday.

Attendance: 150 players, coaches, & staff, and between 500 to 1,000 fans over the course of the tournament.

Competition Facility Requirements: The facility shall include all facilities and equipment necessary for beach volleyball; including standards and nets for one court, adequate spectator seating of 500, lights, electronic scoreboards, press box area, concession stands, rest rooms, meeting rooms, box office, parking lots, sound systems, signs, etc.

Hotel Needs: Centralized property(s) capable of accommodating several meetings and an opening event for at least 150 people. The price range is $119-$139, regardless of room occupancy. A 100-room block is needed, with a price range of $119-$139, regardless of room occupancy.

NAIA Women’s Soccer Championship

Deadline: June 1, 2023

Overview: This championship event has 300 participants and approximately 3,000 spectators (including staff and fans). Stay length for the championship is four to five nights. Dates are December 3-9, 2024 and December 2-8, 2025.

Facility Requirements: A stadium type facility with lights, seating capacity of 1000 minimum and a playing surface of Championship Quality (natural grass or sport turf). The field shall be rectangular, the width of which shall not be more than 75 yards or less than 70 yards and the length shall not be more than 120 yards or less than 115 yards. The optimal dimensions are 75 yards wide by 120 yards in length. A back-up/alternate championship field is also required. Must have warm-up field located near game field. Four practice fields must be located within close proximity to championship venue and housing.

Hotel Requirements: Centralized properties capable of accommodating several meetings, an opening banquet for 600 and a final four banquet for 150-200 people. Teams can be housed at several properties. A 200-room block is needed, with a price range of $90-$115, regardless of room occupancy.

  • 2001-02: Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Mo.
  • 1999-00: St. Thomas University, Miami, Fla.
  • 1998: University of Mobile, Mobile, Ala.
  • 1996-97: Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas
