The national governing body of two-year college athletics, the NJCAA headquartered in Colorado Springs, announced it is in search of competitive bids for 15 of its national championship events.

The nation’s second largest national collegiate athletic organization with over 500 member colleges, the NJCAA is seeking quality hosts and competitive bids for the championships of men’s and women’s cross country (Division I and III), men’s basketball (Division II and III), women’s basketball (Division III), women’s golf, men’s and women’s half marathon, men’s ice hockey, women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer (Division I and III), men’s and women’s outdoor track and field (Division I) and volleyball (Division I) set to take place from 2016-17 to 2019-20.

In addition, the NJCAA has opened up a formal bid process for its football national championship game, as well as other potential bowl game hosts, for the first time in over 20 years. The association has seen tremendous success with the NJCAA Football Championship Game the last six years, and seeks to find a permanent host for the premiere event for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons.

“For the past six years some of the biggest names in football have played in the NJCAA postseason, including Heisman Trophy winner and NFL No. 1 pick Cam Newton,” commented NJCAA assistant executive director Mark Krug. “The NJCAA Football Championship Game is an extraordinary opportunity for a community to serve as the center stage for two-year college football. This event is where future stars of the NCAA and NFL showcase their talents while competing for a national title.”

NJCAA member colleges, regions and conferences as well as sports commissions, civic organizations, local organization committees, non-member colleges and other interested entities can find all pertinent information on hosting any of the 15 available championships available for bid via the NJCAA championship bid website at bids.njcaa.org.

All bids are due via an online submission process by September 1, 2015 and will then be reviewed by the NJCAA Championship Events Committee.
