The fourth annual Bike The Coast – Taste The Coast presented by Tri-City Medical Center (www.bike-the-coast.com) on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Oceanside offers so much more than a bike ride.
In addition to a choice of five routes – a 7 & 15-mile along the San Luis Rey Bike Trail and 25, 50 and 100-mile bicycle rides through the spectacular San Diego North County beach towns – the event offers an expanded beer garden, live music and a spectacular sports expo.
“It will be one big party,” said Jim Curl, Event Director. “We’ve added many features to keep riders and visitors entertained the whole day.”
The Oceanside Ale Works beer garden, open from 10 am till 5 pm, benefits the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition. Meanwhile, live music will be provided by Spanish-style group Gipsymenco on the main stage next to the beer garden. An array of culinary options will be available as well.
In addition, a green screen sponsored by Tri-City Medical Center, the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and Visit Oceanside will provide riders with a free photo with choice of background at the conclusion of the race.
The sports expo will feature an array of sports, fitness and health vendors, including Tri-City Medical Center, the event’s presenting sponsor.
Noted voiceover artist, Matt Hill, who has enjoyed 25 years in film and TV playing everything from Raphael in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Jackie Chan’s deputy in Shanghai Knights, returns as master of ceremonies. He is also the voice of Ed in the popular show Ed, Edd & Eddy. In addition, Miss Oceanside, Tatiana Robinson, and Miss Teen Oceanside, Tatumn Torres, along with their courts, will be on hand to present medals to the participants.
