Economic Impact: Collectively, the event generates more than 150 room nights and an economic impact of between $60,000 and $75,000 for the host city.
All bid documents can be found at this link; however, in the meantime, here is some preliminary information.
Venues Needs:
- 18-hole competition course - collegiate distance (or longer)
- Driving range
- Chipping area
- Putting green
- Bus parking
- On-site golf pro
- Adequate carts for all those in attendance
Outside of the facility itself, the event will require a banquet facility to host 125-150 student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans equipped with AV equipment for awards presentations for National All-Academic Team and End of the Year Awards. If space is outdoors, the USCAA prefers that it be covered. USCAA has expressed a preference for a banquet facility located on or adjacent to the course.
Hotel Needs: The USCAA is seeking affordable accommodations within a 15-minute drive of the competition venue. Please see the linked RFP for more specific information.
USCAA Golf Championships have been historically well attended by member institutions for many years. With the recent addition of strict qualification standards, the level of competition has continued to rise.
Currently the event features a National Championship for men, and a Women’s Invitational as USCAA continues to grow its female participation. The goals of the event are to enhance the championship experience for USCAA student-athletes, generate a larger economic footprint in the host city, and generate content that benefits the community, its businesses, local non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders.
In the last several years the event has been hosted in State College, Pennsylvania.
Bids are due in mid-September 2024.
