Birmingham, Ala. (Apr 9) – Bruno Event Team announced today they were hired to manage the True South Classic, a tournament on the PGA Tour in Madison, Mississippi outside of Jackson. The True South Classic is the largest professional sporting event in the state of Mississippi. The tournament will be held July 16-22, 2012 at Annandale Golf Club and John Marovich will be the executive director.
The tournament will feature a standard eligibility field of 132 players and 72 holes of stroke play to compete for the $3 million purse. One of only 45 PGA TOUR tournaments held each year, the True South Classic has been part of the PGA TOUR schedule since 1968 and is now in its second year as part of the season-long FedEx Cup. Since 1968, this event has raised more than $6.8 million for statewide charities. Past champions of the tournament include Fred Funk (2004), John Huston (2003), Steve Lowery (2000), the reigning FedExCup Champion Bill Haas (2010) and the current No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Luke Donald (2002).

Bruno Event Team previously managed the True South Classic in 2004, 2005, and 2006. BET manages more than 30 events per calendar year ranging in scope from the Alabama High School Athletic Association Football Championships to United States Golf Association (USGA) national championships.
