KemperSports LIVE has been tabbed by Golf Digest to manage the Golf Digest Open presented by Cobra Puma. In its third year, the Golf Digest Open is a premier amateur tournament bringing together 400 two-person teams to compete in a best-ball tournament across eight regional qualifying events with the top three teams (gross and net) in each qualifier earning an invitation to play in the national championship at Streamsong Golf Resort. KemperSports LIVE, the sports marketing and events division of Chicago-based KemperSports, will bring its strong background in event operations and management along with more than 40 years of experience in the golf world.
The announcement comes on the heels of strong growth within KemperSports LIVE as the division recently announced it will manage the Battle 4 Atlantis, one of the premier in-season men’s and women’s college basketball tournaments. KemperSports LIVE has also managed the Maui Invitational since 1990 – giving them a pair of the most iconic in-season college basketball tournaments.
“We are thrilled to partner with KemperSports LIVE to manage the Golf Digest Open,” said Meredith Bausback, Vice President, Marketing & Audience Development. “Utilizing their deep experience in the golf world along with bringing seven of the eight qualifiers to premier KemperSports courses will make for a seamless and outstanding tournament experience.”
