Larry Haemmerle, President of the Board of Directors for USA Racquetball, has announced that Steve Czarnecki has been selected as the new Executive Director of USA Racquetball, the National Governing Body for the sport.
According to Mr. Haemmerle, "Mr. Czarnecki has the business education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities to lead USA Racquetball into a new period of prosperity and growth. His experience in working with the United States Olympic Committee and personal network will also be a valuable asset."
"I'm honored to serve the members of USA Racquetball," said Czarnecki. "I'm excited to lead the organization ahead into its next chapter." Czarnecki added, "I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, staff, affiliated organizations, advertisers, sponsors, donors, professional tours, our partners at the State Association level and the international racquetball community. I will work diligently to broaden participation in our sport at all levels and support our National Teams that have already proven to be very successful in international competition."
Czarnecki, who will serve as USA Racquetball's seventh Executive Director, previously spent 13 years with the United States Golf Association in Colorado Springs, where he directed the Association's charitable activities. His work there included oversight of a $65,000,000 grant program, development of a number of programs and partnerships focused on introducing young people and individuals with disabilities to golf, and administration of the USGA Fellowship; designed to introduce recent college graduates to the principles of non-profit management. Most recently, he worked for DISH Network in Englewood, Colo.
Czarnecki, who will join USA Racquetball on January 22, 2013, holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Crosby MBA program at the University of Missouri. He has also played racquetball competitively as a junior.

USA Racquetball, founded in 1969, is recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee as the National Governing Body for the sport. The organization annually conducts a variety of National Championships for players of all ages and skill levels. The organization also oversees the Official Rules of Racquetball, administers player rankings, manages a college scholarship program, and supports the introduction of new players to the sport.
