According to the Esports Observer, Spectator seating company Hussey Seating recently partnered with the National Association of Collegiate Esports as the official seating solutions supplier of the U.S.-based collegiate esports league.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The partnership will see Hussey Seating provide a variety of services to NACE member colleges and universities in the U.S. looking to build new out retrofitted esports facilities to support their local esports programs. Those services, according to Hussey Seating, include consultation on design and layout, sales, access to its network of dealers for installation and continued maintenance of equipment, and more.
Hussey Seating provides a variety of spectator seating from a traditional folding chair line to fixed seating lines and portable telescopic seating solutions. The NACE partnership is the first of its kind for the New England-based seatings solutions company.
Typically esports leagues and organizations partner with traditional game chair makers such as Secretlabs and Dreamseat, though in November of 2019 Herman Miller, a company that designs furniture for professional office settings, signed on as the official chair partner for Complexity Gaming’s GameStop Performance Center headquarters in Frisco, Texas.
NACE represents more than 170 member schools and more than 5,000 student-athletes engaging in varsity-level esports in the U.S. NACE is one of several national associations that organizes varsity-level esports in the United States. Other collegiate and high school esports associations operating in the U.S. include Collegiate StarLeague, Cxmmunity, National Junior College Athletic Association Esports, and Generations Esports’ Middle School Esports League and High School Esports League.
