Ocean Center in Daytona Beach to Host TaeKwonDo Championships

The Volusia County Ocean Center, an indoor facility located steps from Daytona Beach, will host the AAU Florida State TaeKwonDo Championships from April 19 – 20.

Athletes ages 5 and up will compete. This is the first time this event is being held at the Ocean Center. Competition is divided by age, sex, weight and belt rank; the top eight athletes in each division will qualify to compete in the National AAU TaeKwonDo Championships in July in Fort Lauderdale.

As the largest and one of the oldest qualifiers in the country, this AAU sanctioned event attracts close to 2,000 athletes, coaches, officials and family members from across the United States and internationally. The event is open to the public. Admission is $10 for  ages 18 and up; $5 for ages 6 to 17; and free for children 5 and under. For more information, visit www.dcturnbullsmartialarts.com.
