Wheelchair Lacrosse USA Brings New Adaptive Sport to Colorado Springs this Weekend

One-on-One Instruction Offered for Disabled Athletes

Colorado Springs, Colorado - August 30, 2012 - Wheelchair Lacrosse USA, in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Cup, is hosting a two-day training and education camp for disabled athletes in Colorado Springs.

WHO: Wheelchair Lacrosse USA in partnership with Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Cup.

WHAT: This will be the first camp in the region for this new game, which was created in 2009 by Ryan Baker and Bill Lundstrom, both spinal cord injury athletes. The fast-paced, full-contact sport features traditional lacrosse skills adapted for wheelchair play.

WHEN: Saturday, September 1 – 8:00am to 3:00pm
Sunday, September 2 - 8:00am to Noon

WHY: Up to 15 male and female disabled athletes receiving professional group wheelchair lacrosse instruction, one-on-one skills training and scrimmage play.

VISUALS: Disabled athletes receiving professional group wheelchair lacrosse instruction including:
• Passing and catching drills
• Shooting and passing coaching
• Offensive and defensive play
• Full court scrimmage
