USA Triathlon has two events up for bid and is interested in hearing from destinations who would like to host. Events are as follows:
Multisport National Championships Festival 2022-2023
Overview
There are two different event models that could be utilized for the Multisport National Championships Festival, depending upon available dates and locations.
The first model is the preferred option. This includes the addition of Collegiate Club National Championships, which adds an additional three races and 1,000 athletes to the model, along with additional spectators. This model will welcome over 7,500 visitors (3,000 athletes and over 4,500 spectators based on historical numbers) from all 50 states for three days of multisport racing.
Model 2 will welcome over 5,000 visitors (2,000 athletes and over 3,000 spectators based on historical numbers) from all 50 states for two days of multisport racing. USA Triathlon will own and operate the event and will effectively partner with the LOC and lean on them for volunteers, permitting, managing key relationships and securing community support at multiple levels.
The economic impact of bringing this event to your community will be significant based on average household income of athletes, family and friends that travel alongside those competing, and average overnight hotel stays

Race Venue/Hotel Considerations/Meeting Facilities:
- Adequate space for swim start/finish, transition area, finish line, athlete recovery area, spectator viewing, parking, and race expo. Venue should not be more than 20-minute drive from hotels.
- Swim Course: Clean, scenic body of water with minimal-to-no current, with temperatures ranging between 60F and 80F.
- Bike Course: Safe course with roads that are closed to traffi c and can accommodate the athletes comfortably. Road conditions are good with minimal safety concerns.
- Run Course: Safe course that should be predominantly on paved roads, trails, or wide sidewalks. • Weather: Moderate and reliable • Hotels: Should be able to service thousands of athletes plus staff , friends, family, spectators, and sponsors with ideal pricing between $70 - $225/night. USA Triathlon reserves the right to use their preferred housing partner to source rooms.
- Meeting Space: to service variety of events such as Rules Briefings (attendance ranging from 100 - 800), Awards Ceremonies (attendance ranging from 200 - 1,500), and other possible ancillary activities. Ability to have a stage, seating, audio / visual, and food and beverage are must-haves.
Event Dates
USAT and the LOC will work together to set the event date. Decisions in selecting a date should consider other local events, large national events and World Triathlon World Championship dates.

Age Group National Championships and Youth & Junior Championships 2023-2024
Overview:
The 2023 and 2024 Toyota USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships and Youth and Junior Nationals are combined as one event, welcoming over 6,500 athletes and 12,000 spectators. (In past years, events were held on back-to-back weekends; however, beginning in 2023, they will be combined into one event weekend to maximize opportunities for all those involved.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chosen as host should place primary emphasis on the safety and quality of the event while also generating community interest and respectfully representing the USA Triathlon brand. This event has significant economic impact, based on the household incomes of athletes, family and friends that travel alongside those competing, and who have overnight hotel stays.
The three-day multisport event consists of the USA Triathlon Olympic Distance and Sprint Distance Age Group National Championships (amateur athletes ages 15 to upwards of 90 years of age) and the following events as a part of the Youth and Junior Nationals (over 1,000 youth athletes ages 7 to 19): non-draft-legal, draft-legal and mixed relay. The events will welcome participants from all 50 states. In addition, there is an opportunity to add events, depending upon the venue. The event will also consist of Packet Pick-Up, Expo, Athlete Briefings, Welcome Celebration, Awards Ceremony, Swim and Bike Course Familiarizations and Athlete Clinics among others.
Deadline: August 27, 2021
Dates: To maximize participation and based onthe dates of World Championships and IRONMAN Championship races, the event must take place in the last weekend of July or one of the first two weekends of August.
