Top Amateur Multisport Athletes to Compete for National Titles, Team USA Spots

USA Triathlon today announced the dates and locations for 13 events that comprise the 2015 National Championships schedule, giving top amateur athletes from across the United States the opportunity to earn official designation as a national champion in a number of multisport disciplines.

The USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships will kick off the 2015 season, set for April 24-25 in Clemson, South Carolina, on the Clemson University campus. Collegiate athletes representing an estimated 120-plus clubs will compete for the overall title based on points earned in three championship races: a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, 5-kilometer run draft-legal sprint, the traditional 1,500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run championship and the four-person Mixed Team Relay, in which athletes will complete a 250m swim, 5k bike and 1.2k run.

Duathlon Nationals will return to St. Paul, Minnesota, for a second consecutive year, with races scheduled for June 6. Run-bike-run athletes will have the option of a standard-distance or a sprint-distance race. Top athletes in each age-group will earn a spot to represent Team USA in the 2016 ITU Duathlon World Championships, which will be announced sometime in 2015.

Athletes ages 7-19 will return to West Chester, Ohio, on Aug. 1-2 for the Youth & Junior National Championships. Four championship races will be contested at West Chester's Voice of America Park, including draft-legal events for junior elite and youth elite competitors, as well as a draft-legal mixed team relay. The Youth National Championships, open to youth age-group participants, sold out for the first time in 2014.

USA Triathlon's Age Group Nationals will once again be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the host of the 2013-14 events. In August 2014, nearly 4,850 amateur triathletes from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., competed over two days with the action centered at the picturesque Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery World. Olympic-Distance Nationals, scheduled for Aug. 8, features a 1,500m swim, 40k bike and 10k run, while Sprint Nationals on Aug. 9 is comprised of a 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run.

Registration for Age Group Nationals, Duathlon Nationals and Youth & Junior Nationals is expected to open in mid-November. Collegiate Nationals registration will open in December following the collegiate club registration process.

A complete listing of scheduled USA Triathlon National Championships is below. Paratriathlon Nationals and Women's Collegiate Nationals will be announced at a later date.

In addition to chasing national titles, athletes also will be competing for prized spots on Team USA at a number of USA Triathlon National Championships. Team USA is comprised of age-group athletes who represent the U.S. at each ITU world championship event. Visit usatriathlon.org for more information about Team USA.
