USA Triathlon unveiled its 2019 National Championships calendar with the majority of dates and locations confirmed for a robust schedule of events across the country.
A slate of newly-announced events join the USA Triathlon Duathlon (April 13-14 in Greenville, S.C.), Collegiate Club & High School (April 5-6 in Tempe, Ariz.), Youth & Junior (Aug. 3-4 in West Chester, Ohio) and Age Group Sprint and Olympic-Distance (Aug. 10-11 in Cleveland) National Championships, the dates of locations of which were all confirmed earlier this year.
The 2019 Off-Road National Championships will return to Waco, Texas, on June 8 as part of XTERRA Cameron Park. The second annual Multisport National Championships Festival will also return in its 2018 host city of Miami on Nov. 9-10, 2019. Multisport Nationals, which will be held for this first time this November in conjunction with the Miami Man Triathlon, features five national championships over two days: aquathlon, long course triathlon, long course duathlon, long course aquabike and international-distance aquabike. Miami will also host Multisport Nationals in 2020, from Nov. 14-15.
Clydesdale & Athena Nationals relocates from its longstanding home of Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in conjunction with the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon on June 23. The city of Grand Rapids remains on the National Championships schedule though, as the Michigan Titanium Triathlon will host Ultra-Distance Nationals on Aug. 18.
For the second consecutive year, age-group athletes will have the opportunity to earn national titles in the draft-legal format for both triathlon and duathlon. The Draft-Legal Sprint Duathlon National Championships will be held as part of Duathlon Nationals in Greenville in April, while the date and location for the Draft-Legal Sprint Triathlon National Championships are to be determined.
At several National Championships in the 2019 season, amateur athletes will race not only for national titles, but also for the chance to represent Team USA at the ITU Age Group World Championships for their respective disciplines.
