USA Triathlon Sets Schedule for 2014 Championships, Qualifiers

Fifteen Events Aimed at Beginner Triathletes and Seasoned Veterans Alike

USA Triathlon has selected the 10 events in each Region that will serve as the 2014 Regional Championships and Special Qualifiers, which will allow athletes the opportunity to qualify for the 2014 USA Triathlon Olympic-Distance National Championships.

The top 33 percent of each age group at Regional Championships and Special Qualifiers contested prior to Aug. 1 will automatically qualify for the 2014 USA Triathlon Olympic-Distance National Championships, which will take place Aug. 10 in Milwaukee, Wis. Regional Championships or Special Qualifiers held after Aug. 1 will qualify athletes for 2015 Olympic-Distance Nationals.

2014 USA Triathlon Regional Championships

  • Florida: St. Anthony's Triathlon (April 27, St. Petersburg, Fla.)

  • Mid-Atlantic: New Jersey State Triathlon (July 20, West Windsor, N.J.)

  • Mideast: USA Triathlon Mideast Regional Championship (June 14, Grass Lake, Mich.)

  • Midwest: Omaha Triathlon (July 20, Omaha, Neb.)

  • Northeast: The Massachusetts State Triathlon (July 13, Winchendon, Mass.)

  • Pacific Northwest: Portland Triathlon (Sept. 21, Portland, Ore.) - Qualifier for 2015 Nationals

  • Rocky Mountain: Boulder Peak Triathlon (July 13, Boulder, Colo.)

  • South Midwest: Tri Tyler Olympic (March 30, Tyler, Texas)

  • Southeast: Memphis in May Triathlon (May 18, Memphis, Tenn.)

  • Southwest: Silicon Valley International Triathlon (April 20, Morgan Hill, Calif.)

2014 USA Triathlon Special Qualifiers

  • Mid-Atlantic: Rock Hall Triathlon (May 31, Rock Hall, Md.)

  • Mideast: Leon's Triathlon (June 1, Hammond, Ind.)

  • Midwest: Lake Geode Challenge (July 21, Danville, Iowa)

  • Rocky Mountain: Echo Triathlon (July 21, Coalville, Utah)
