USA Triathlon unveiled its 2020 National, Regional and State Championship calendars, with the majority of dates and locations confirmed for a robust schedule of events across the country.
A slate of newly announced events join the following USA Triathlon National Championships, the dates and locations of which were confirmed earlier this year: Collegiate Club & High School (April 3-4 in Tempe, Ariz.), Duathlon (May 30-31 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.), Youth & Junior (Aug. 1-2 in West Chester, Ohio), Toyota Age Group Sprint- and Olympic-Distance (Aug. 8-9 in Milwaukee, Wis.), and Multisport (Nov. 14-15 in Miami, Fla.).
The 2020 Winter Triathlon National Championships will be held for the second consecutive year as part of the Loppet Winter Triathlon in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on March 1. The Off-Road National Championships will head to Hewitt, New Jersey, on May 16, in conjunction with XTERRA Way Over Yonder.
The Clydesdale & Athena National Championships return to the 2019 host city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, on June 28 as part of the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon. Club Nationals will also head back to its 2019 host race, the New Jersey State Triathlon in West Windsor, New Jersey, on July 18.
Ultra-Distance Nationals move to Clermont, Florida, for 2020, in conjunction with the 30th Annual Great Floridian Triathlon. The third annual Multisport National Championships Festival, which take place Nov. 14-15 as part of the Miami Man Triathlon, will feature five national championships over two days: aquathlon, long course triathlon, long course duathlon, long course aquabike and international distance aquabike.
At several National Championships in the 2020 season, amateur athletes will race not only for national titles, but also for the chance to represent Team USA at the ITU Age Group World Championships in their respective disciplines. For more information about Team USA, visit usatriathlon.org/teamusa. Visit the event page for each national championship to learn more about specific qualification criteria.
Registration is already open for the Duathlon National Championships at usatriathlon.org/du2020. Registration for the Toyota USA Triathlon Sprint- and Olympic-Distance National Championships will open Aug. 8 exclusively onsite for participants at this year’s Age Group Nationals in Cleveland, and will open to all qualified athletes and open wave participants on Aug. 12 at usatriathlon.org/agnc2020. Registration for all other races will open over the coming months.
A multi-tiered pricing system will be in effect for the 2020 USA Triathlon Age Group, Duathlon, and Youth & Junior National Championships. Once each tier fills to capacity (dependent on total race inventory), pricing will automatically increase to the next tier. Pricing tiers for each event can be found on the event’s respective registration page.
Dates and locations for the Toyota USA Paratriathlon, USA Triathlon Elite, Women’s Collegiate Triathlon and Draft-Legal Triathlon National Championships will be announced in the coming months. To view the full calendar of national championship events in 2020, and to register to compete, visit usatriathlon.org/nationalchampionships. Most races do not require qualification to participate.
USA Triathlon’s Regional and State Championship calendars have also been finalized for most events, and can be found here. Regional Championships for youth, paratriathlon, duathlon and multisport events can be found on each Region’s homepage: Mideast, Northeast, North Central, Southeast, South Central, West.
