Pittsburgh has cancelled its highly popular Rock ‘n’ Roll Pittsburgh Half-Marathon due to lack of official support.
In a letter to participants, published on the organization’s website, race officials noted:
"It is with great disappointment that we have been forced to postpone the event until 2014. We can no longer plan to organize an event without the support from the Mayor’s Office, Director of Public Safety and the Special Events Committee on the agreed upon date of August 4, 2013.
We know you are as disappointed as we are. The 2014 Rock ‘n Roll Pittsburgh event date is still to be determined, in the meantime you can transfer your registration to another Rock ‘n’ Marathon Series event or receive a full refund."
The Rock ‘n Roll Competitor Group sponsors a number of other events throughout the year and around the country. Information is available at the website.
