Want to host an expansion event of one of the hottest tournament series around? Copa Rayados West is a large youth soccer tournament presented in partnership with Mexican professional club, CF Monterrey Rayados – and it’s seeking a home. A location in the Western or Southwestern USA is desirable, although destinations in any region can bid.
First, some background: The event is, as mentioned previously, an expansion of the highly successful Copa Rayados Internacional and is designed as the West Coast version of the event, in partnership with Monterrey Rayados.
The tournament will be four days long with hotel night stays of three to five nights. The goal is to market the tournament to provide a high level soccer tournament for ages U11 to U19 boys, for teams in the Western USA and Mexico.

Requested Dates of Event:
- June 14-17, 2024
- June 20-23, 2025
- June 19-22, 2026
- June 18-21, 2027
- June 16-19, 2028
NOTE: Other dates could be considered; however, these are preferred.
Any geographic areas can be considered but the primary growth strategy is in the states of California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.
Conservative Estimates and Growth Over the Five-Year Cycle Are as Follows:
- 2024: 100-120 teams; 60-70 traveling teams
- 2025: 120-140 teams; 70-80 traveling teams
- 2026: 140-160 teams; 80-100 traveling teams
- 2027: 160 teams; 100-120 traveling teams
- 2028: 160 teams; 120+ traveling teams
Breakdown of Numbers:
Estimates of 20 official delegation members (players/ staff) and 1.5 attendees (family) per team
Number of attendees (participants and spectators) will peak at 8,000 daily or 32,000 in total attendance
Conservative Hotel Usage Calculations based on 10-15 rooms per traveling team for 3-4 nights
- 60 teams 2000-3200 room nights
- 70 teams 2100-3800 room nights
- 80 teams 2500-4500 room nights
- 100 teams 3500-5000 room nights
- 120 teams 4000-7000 room nights
Venue Needs
To host, a location must, at a minimum, meet the following general fields criteria:
1. Fields:
(a) 16 playing Full size fields must be provided. Fields are preferred to be at as few sites as possible. Additional Fields could be used if available. Each playing field must be at least 68 yards in width and 110 yards in length, surfaced only in natural grass or new generation synthetic turf with the ability to line and create small-sided fields on full-size fields based on the needs of the different age divisions in play. Up to 6 Under 12 (9 vs 9) fields could be sub-divided (each requiring 6 sets of small-sided goals which are usually 6x18, 6.5 x 18, or 7 x 21 ft.)
