Boise, Idaho was chosen as the host for the 2011 US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships. Event dates in Boise are June 19-26, 2011. Games will be played at Simplot Sport Complex.
Over 10,000 visitors, including 4,000 soccer players, will attend the Championships. The Far West Regional Championships determine the regional champions from the 14 western states in age groups from 12 to 19 years of age. The regional champions will then compete against three other regions' champions for the national championships.
Idaho's premier organizing committee, superb weather and excellent competition will be among the key draws for teams who gather each year regionally to compete for a national berth.
"We're thrilled to have the Far West Regional Championships in our town," says Bobbie Patterson, Executive Director of the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau. Estimates are that the tournament will have an economic impact of over $4,000,000 on the local economy.
