The International Senior Softball Association (ISSA) has listed its much-anticipated tournament schedule for the year.

2016 EASTERN SPRING NATIONALS - This National event will once again be held on fields in the Lake Norman region of North Carolina on May 13-15. This one is an ISSA Ring Tournament and it filled up early but fortunately the Town of Huntersville was able to provide two more fields allowing some additional teams to still get in.  Forty-five to fifty teams will be playing for the rings this year.  This event is held in the heart of NASCAR Country and a favorite destination for many of the softball players who are big NASCAR fans as well.  Any team manager looking for a late entry should call Greg Thomas at 571-220-0158 to see if an opening exists in a specific division.

ISSA PENN SENIOR CLASSIC - This NIT will be held on June 3-5 in the Pocono Mountains in northeast Pennsylvania.  The 50+ to 65+ teams will play at the ASA of PA Complex at Drifton and the 70 & Up teams will play at Wilkes Barre.  Drifton is now closed and Wilkes Barre could add a couple more 70s.

ISSA SMOKY MOUNTAIN SENIOR CLASSIC - The Senior Smoky is played at Maryville, TN with satellite fields in Knox County and the City of Knoxville.  This 5th Annual event continues to grow each year and will be played on June 10-12.  There is now a waiting list for teams to enter as most divisions have maxed out the available field space.  Any team desiring to play in this year's Senior Smoky and not already entered should call Greg Thomas at the ISSA Office.  This event is also a Ring Tournament for 2016 and will have over seventy teams "going for the gold."  The various divisions have been assigned to the softball fields that will be used this year.  These are shown on the Address of Venues page on the ISSA Website.  Hotel rooms have been blocked near the complexes for the players competing in the event.  This senior tournament has become one of the favorites for the teams around the United States.

15th ANNUAL ISF SENIOR WORLD CUP - The World Cup will again be played on the fields in the Roanoke Valley on June 22-26.  The popular "national championship" tournament filled up early....over two months before the opening day.  This year the 70 & Up men's and women's teams will begin play on Wednesday.  All others will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The event currently has 96 entries and reached capacity over two months before the tournament date.  Teams wishing to play should email the ISSA to get on the waiting list.

2016 ISSA CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - This year the ISSA Staff will be holding 24 senior tournaments around the United States.  The next four tournaments have all reached capacity early and closed.  Current entries in many of the future tournaments this year point to the high probability that they too will close early.  Teams are encouraged to submit the online entry form for all ISSA tournaments in which they plan to play this year.  The new entry registration system allows teams the opportunity to reserve a place in each tournament and submit the entry fee later by the published deadline.  For instance, the 22nd ISSA World Championships in August in Northern Virginia already has over 60 entries.  Anyone needing assistance with the online entry process should contact ISSA's Greg Thomas.
