Who’s ready to take a great big running leap right and make a huge splash in the bidding and hosting pool? That would be everyone, right?
NAIA has three (count ‘em, three!) RFPs up and running. They’re in indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, and swimming & diving. Bid deadline is exactly a month away: Friday, October 1, 2021.
NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship
The NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship is seeking sites for championships the following dates (both are Thursday through Saturday):
- March 2 - March 4, 2023
- February 29 - March 2, 2024
Approximately 100 men's and 100 women's teams are expected to compete, with a total estimated number of 1,100 participants and 3,000 fans.
Facility Requirements: 200-meter, 6-or 8-lane straight away and 6 lane turns with appropriate surfacing. Separate horizontal jumps and runway, pole vault runway, high jump area with same surface as track. Throwing area must have protective cage and barriers. P.A. system, award staging area and games committee staging area. Finish Lynx Timing System and electronic scoreboard. Seating outside the track area to accommodate at least 3,000 fans and athletes. Separate warm-up and training area if possible.
Hotel Requirements
- Facilities: Centralized properties that can accommodate several meetings and a banquet for 1,100 people.
- Average Length of Stay: 4 nights
- Room Block Needed: 600-650 rooms on peak
- Room Rate: The price range is $90-$115, regardless of room occupancy.
Participants will be responsible for making reservations and paying for rooms directly with the hotel

NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships
NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships are seeking sites for the following dates (both are Wednesday through Friday time windows):
- May 24-26, 2023
- May 22-24, 2024
Approximately 110 men’s teams and 110 women’s teams are expected to compete, with a total expected number of 1,300 participants and 3,000 fans.
Facility Requirements: An 8- or 9-lane flat track with appropriate surface, high jump area, horizontal runway and pit, pole vault runway and landing pit, throwing area with protective cage, javelin runway and landing area, P.A. system, marathon course that is or can be USATF certified, finish Lynx timing system and electronic scoreboard, award and committee staging area, locker rooms, training room, press box, seating outside the track for over 3,500 spectators and athletes.
Hotel Requirements
- Facilities: Centralized properties that can accommodate meeting and banquet for 1,300 people.
- Average Length of Stay: 4 nights
- Room Block Needed: 750 rooms on peak, plus rooms for teams and traveling officials
- Room Rate: The price range is $90-$115, regardless of room occupancy

NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championship
NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championship is seeking a site for March 1-4, 2023 (Wednesday-Saturday).
Approximately 26-28 men's and women's teams will compete, for an estimated 325 athletes. About 900 fans are expected to attend as well.
Facility Requirements:
- Starting Depth: no less than 4ft
- Number of lanes: 8 lanes preferred, 6-foot [1.83m] lanes
- Standard length: 75ft, 1in; 25m, 2.54cm; or 50m, 2.54cm
- Diving Boards: 1m and 3m
- Practice/Warm-Up & Diving Pool Required
Hotel Requirements
- Facilities: Centralized properties with banquet room and meeting rooms.
- Average Length of Stay: 4-5 nights
- Room Block Needed: No fewer than 200 rooms
- Room Rate: The price range is $90-$115, regardless of room occupancy
Participants will be responsible for making reservations and paying for rooms directly with the hotel
