Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is excited to announce the launch of an enhanced Level I certification pathway. This marks another major addition to PTR’s education pathway since the current highly acclaimed Coach Education was drastically improved in 2009. Coaches can expect the same internationally recognized/externally accredited education while experiencing a more robust foundational framework for coaches.

The Level I pathway will be six (6) days in length, all of which will be face-to-face education. This increases the contact coaches experience from the current 8 hours to 64 hours - covering Jr. Development, Recreational/High School Development, Adult Development.

The new Level I pathway will have a primary focus on the player pathway from Learn & Play through Thrive & Mentor of the ADM (American Development Model) creating an effective coach competence through all levels of player activation. PTR’s new Level I Program will officially launch September 30th at Crandon Park Tennis Center located on Key Biscayne, FL.

Throughout the six days of experiential learning, coaches will be immersed in key topics vital to improving coaching knowledge, skills, and behaviors. A sampling of topics covered includes:

• Session planning and organization

• GDM (Growth, Development and Maturation)

• Physical Development through ages and phases

• Technical and Tactical parameters

• Competitive structures

• Effective interaction and communication

• Setting goals and standards

• Ethical practice

• Building relationships

• Reflective skills

In addition, a new and enhanced Performance-based Level II program will debut in early 2020 rounding out the foundational courses of the new PTR education pathway. Thus, allowing PTR to keep its promise to raise the bar on coach education and certification.

PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 16,500 members in 125 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and serving tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
