Greater Des Moines Announces Opening of AT&F Action

The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, the parent organization of the Des Moines Area Sports Commission, invites the media to catch the action at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium.

Schedule of Events

Wednesday, June 19
Press Conference: 10 a.m., Des Moines Marriott Downtown
Athletes to include Sanya Richards-Ross, Christian Taylor, Aries Merritt, Ashton Eaton and Justin Gatlin. (Athletes subject to change; additional athletes may be included.)
Track & Field Events: Noon – 6:15 p.m., Drake Stadium
Prize Giveaways: All Day, Drake Stadium
Fans in sections D-I (in-line with national TV camera crews) will be eligible to win prizes just for sitting in these sections.

Thursday, June 20
Track & Field Events: 10 a.m. – 9:25 p.m., Drake Stadium
Prize Giveaways: All Day, Drake Stadium

Friday, June 21
Track & Field Events: 10 a.m. – 9:35 p.m., Drake Stadium
“Wells Fargo Day” at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships: All Day, Drake Stadium
Children sitting in sections D-I will walk away with a plush Wells Fargo pony—while supplies last.
How Big Is Your Ring? Competition: Check-in open 6 - 9 p.m., Drake Stadium
YPs are encouraged to register as Ring Leaders at catchdesmoines.com/HowBigIsYourRing. The Ring Leader bringing the most attendees will win a trip for two to Las Vegas. Plus half of the ticket proceeds from each Ring Leader will be donated to their charity of choice. Check in will be at the Bulldog entrance on the southwest corner of Drake Stadium.

Saturday, June 22

Sunday, June 23
Track & Field Events: 7 – 10 a.m. & 1:30 – 5 p.m., Drake Stadium
“Military Day” at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships: All Day, Drake Stadium
All military personnel will receive free admission by showing a military ID.
How Big Is Your Ring? Competition: Check-in open 1 - 5 p.m., Drake Stadium
Prize Giveaways: All Day, Drake Stadium
