USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) announced today an official partnership with A2 Wind Tunnel and Aerodyn Technologies in Mooresville, N.C. A2 Wind Tunnel is utilized for development by the motorsports industry, and aerodynamics certification and endurance testing for more unique industries such as curbside waste receptacles, satellite dishes, solar panels, signage, tents, umbrellas– and even bobsled and skeleton sleds.
"We are excited to announce our partnership with the A2 Wind Tunnel,” said Aron McGuire, USABS Chief Executive Officer. “USABS is always looking to provide a competitive advantage to USA athletes. Hundredths of a second play a critical role in bobsled and skeleton, so working in a wind tunnel to test our equipment and riding positions can make a difference in our team's results on the ice."
A2 is a household name throughout the competitive cycling community for optimizing individual athletes as well as its use by the bicycle industry for design and development. USABS athletes have been utilizing wind tunnels for decades to aid in performance, and USA Bobsled athletes are at the A2 Wind Tunnel this week in preparation for the 2021-2022 season.
“Our family at A2 Wind Tunnel and Aerodyn Technologies is proud to continue to be a part of USA Bobsled/Skeleton, and now we’ve made our partnership official,” said Geoff Eaker, A2 Wind Tunnel General Manager. “We really enjoy hosting the team and doing our part to contribute to the success of USA Bobsled/Skeleton. The energy that surrounds the team of family, competition, friendly rivalry, and cultivating international relationships is something we love to be a part of!”
A2 Wind Tunnel is in the heart of NASCAR country in Mooresville, and opened in 2006 as a follow up to its sister company Aerodyn Wind Tunnel, whose main focus is NASCAR. A2 Wind Tunnel was designed to be a more flexible multipurpose budget friendly aerodynamics testing facility. A2 Wind Tunnel is available for use in nearly any application by industry and the general public at reasonable rates. For more information visit A2WT.com/contact.
