The Erie Sports Commission is pleased to announce that Presque Isle Downs and Casino will once again host the Dave Chaffee Arms Classic III on Saturday, April 29. The event will feature a series of pro and amateur bouts, and a bikini contest, before four super matches, culminating in a bout between Erie’s own Dave Chaffee and Chris Chandler.
The event is hosted by Jack Sullivan and REAL Training and Fitness.
Dave Chaffee is a six-time national champion, 2014 and 2015 WAL Champion, 2013 Arnold Classic Champion, and third-ranked heavyweight in the world. This will be the third headline event for Chaffee at Presque Isle Downs and Casino.
Amateur and pro arm wrestling will kick off the day at noon, as participants compete in five classes – Pro Right, Pro Left, Women’s Pro, Amateur Right and Amateur Left – for cash prizes.
The Pro Tournament Finals will begin at 6 p.m., with two rounds of the Bikini Bash scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The super matches are set to begin at 8 p.m. with four bouts featuring some of the country’s top arm wrestling talent. Matches include John Heynoski against Zack D. Lee, Seth Barnett against Doug Allen, Sam Harris against Jake Charles, and finally Dave Chaffee against Chris Chandler.
Chris Chandler has 21 national titles, and more than 100 state titles.
Registration for competitors will be held at REAL Training and Fitness on Friday, April 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Brew Brothers at Presque Isle Downs and Casino.
“In the first two events, Erie proved that it loves to watch top-level arm wrestling,” said Jack Sullivan, Owner of Real Training and Fitness. “I’m excited to continue to give the fans what they want – high-energy, high-level arm wrestling talent, and an opportunity to compete on their own.”
“We’re excited to once again showcase Dave Chaffee’s talents to a hometown crowd,” said Ron Sertz, Executive Director of the Erie Sports Commission. “Jack Sullivan has proven that he runs high-quality events, and this will be no exception.”
