This year’s Northern Wisconsin Endowment Middle and High School Trap Shoot, hosted by the Hudson Raiders and Clearwater Explosion Shooting Clubs, will take place at the Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club on May 15-17. Many of the state’s top shooters and defending national champion teams are entered in this event.
The event is a 100-target American Trap event and is open to Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) youth shooting teams. Shooting will start for the over 570 expected athletes on Friday from 4:30-7:30 p.m., and continue Saturday morning from 8 a.m-7 p.m. Sunday’s shooting will run from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., followed by an awards program scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
Team awards for the Northern Wisconsin Invitational are funded by the SCTP Foundation, and there will be $18,000 in prize money at stake. There will also be individual awards for the top overall scoring male and female, and the top five varsity, junior varsity, intermediate advanced, intermediate beginner, and rookie scorers.
Along with the competition, there will also be food served, door prizes awarded and raffles throughout the event. This event has an estimated economic impact of $135,000.
