West Michigan Sports Commission
Mike Guswiler is president of the West Michigan Sports Commission (WMSC). Under his leadership, the commission has booked 1,216 events attracting more than 2.1 million athletes and visitors, generating over $649 million in direct visitor spending since its inception in 2007. Mike was named the Newsmaker of the Year in Hospitality & Tourism by Crain's Grand Rapids Business in 2017 and 2014, as well as being named a finalist in many other years. Under his leadership, the WMSC also was named Sports Commission of the Year for 2023 (under 500,000 population) by Sports ETA.
